Jubilations as Osun ALGON, Federal Government Distributes Patrol Vehicles to Security Agencies

There was excitement and widespread commendation in Osogbo today as the Osun State chapter of the Association of Local Governments of Nigeria (ALGON) in collaboration with the Federal Government of Nigeria officially flagged off newly donated security pickups and trucks aimed at strengthening security operations across the state.

The event which attracted government officials, leaders, security personnel, political stakeholders and residents from different parts of the state marked a significant milestone in the collective effort to enhance peace and safety at the grassroots level.

Speaking during the ceremony Hon. Saheed Onibonokuta, the Executive Chairman of Osogbo Local Government described the initiative as a timely intervention designed to support security agencies with improved mobility and operational effectiveness. He stressed that security remains a collective responsibility and called on citizens to continue supporting government efforts toward safeguarding lives and property.

According to him, the deployment of the security vehicles will greatly improve rapid response to emergencies and reinforce surveillance operations within local communities.

Residents who attended the flag-off ceremony expressed appreciation to Osun ALGON and the Federal Government for the initiative, describing it as a bold and proactive step toward tackling insecurity and promoting public confidence.

The newly commissioned pickups and trucks are expected to be distributed for security operations across strategic locations, thereby boosting the capacity of security personnel to respond swiftly to threats and maintain peace within the state.

Today’s event further demonstrated the commitment of both local and federal authorities to sustaining security, stability and development across Osun State.
