Ajagungbade's Death: None Of Our Members Were Arrested, We Handed Them Over To The Police - Osun Amotekun Chief

The attention of the Osun State Amotekun Corps has been drawn to reports circulating on social media alleging that five operatives of the Corps were arrested by the police in connection with the death of the late Oyeyemi Ajagungbade Emir and the recent attacks in Ile-Ife. The Osun Amotekun Corps wishes to state categorically that the report, as presented, is misleading and does not reflect the true circumstances of the matter. For the avoidance of doubt, the Police did not arrest the Amotekun operatives in question. Rather, the Corps Commander of the Osun State Amotekun Corps, High Chief Dr. Hon. Adekunle Isaac Omoyele, in the interest of transparency, accountability and a thorough investigation, personally handed over four operatives attached to NURTW chieftain Alowonle Nurudeen to the Osun State Police Command. The decision was taken to enable the police to conduct their investigation and unravel the circumstances surrounding the attacks in Ile-Ife. The operatives were therefore made...

You Are a Loafer Outside The Public Office - APC To Rotimi Amaechi

The All Progressives Congress (APC) prays that the soul of Dame Ezinne Mary Oduah Amaechi continues to rest in perfect peace. Amen. Amen. Rotimi Amaechi’s uncanny confessions must not be missed. First, he howled that he had become so broke and hungry that his wife was now feeding him. Fuel Subsidy Debate: Oil Minister Knocks Atiku and Obi

When President Tinubu assumed office, Nigeria faced a situation in which the government was projected to spend about ₦18.4 billion every day on fuel subsidy payments, citing figures previously presented by former Finance Minister Zainab Ahmed before the National Assembly. That would amount to approximately $15 billion annually or about ₦21 trillion when converted at ₦1,400 to the dollar. “Where would the money come from?” he asked. “The money is expected to come from the same oil sector.” Lokpobiri said the subsidy system had also contributed to the financial weakness of the Nigerian National Petroleum Corporation before its transformation into NNPC Limited, arguing that the corporation had previously struggled to meet its obligations, including cash calls in joint venture arrangements. “You recall that NNPC never paid any dividend. NNPC never made any profit at all,” he said. “What they were doing was shipping out crude and shipping in refined products. NNPC was the sole importer of r...
